Weekend Admission Home Health RN (Part-Time) - Pittsburgh, PA
Most home health nursing comes with things nobody warns you about. An on-call phone that follows you home. A caseload that keeps growing until every visit feels like a race to the next door. Charting that piles up on your own time. This role doesn't work that way.
About the role
Anova Health Care Service is hiring a part-time Weekend Admission RN serving patients across the Pittsburgh region. Weekends only, daytime hours. You come in, you admit your patients, and you're done.
- Your weekdays are yours. This is a weekends-only role, which makes it a natural fit if you have weekday classes, a primary job, kids at home, or simply want your Monday-through-Friday time back.
- You earn on the weekend and keep your week open.
- No caseload hanging over you. You handle the admission and set the plan of care in motion. The weekday team carries it from there, so nothing follows you into the week.
- No race between doors. Admission visits are focused work. You get real time with each patient and family to do the assessment right, because that first visit sets the tone for everything that follows.
- Never the only set of eyes. You're backed by a full interdisciplinary team and clinical leadership. Support is always a call away.
Responsibilities
- Complete the full physical assessment and patient history for new admissions (3-6 per weekend)
- Develop the initial plan of care, establishing goals based on your nursing diagnosis
- Coordinate with physicians to obtain and receive orders as required
- Educate patients and families on their care and what to expect
- Ensure equipment and necessary services are arranged and in place
- Document each admission clearly and on time
Requirements
- Active Pennsylvania RN license and current CPR certification
- At least 1 year of nursing experience (home health or admissions experience preferred, but if you have the assessment skills and the heart for this work, we'll help with the rest)
- Strong assessment, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Comfort working independently and managing your own visits
- Reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and insurance
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
About Anova
We're a family-run agency serving Western Pennsylvania since 2004. We're small enough that leadership knows our nurses by name and established enough to offer the stability of a larger organization. Our nurses aren't interchangeable staff, they're the heart of the care our patients remember.
