About the Role
WeCode KC is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team. This role is central to our mission of exposing youth from underrepresented communities to technology and leadership skills, creating a pipeline of future-ready professionals through project-based learning and innovative programs.
Responsibilities
- Deliver project-based technology and leadership curriculum to youth in the urban core of Kansas City.
- Facilitate hands-on learning experiences in computer science concepts.
- Mentor and support students to build confidence and skills in technology.
- Collaborate with program staff to adapt and improve educational content.
- Track and report on student progress and program outcomes.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience working with youth, preferably in underserved or underrepresented communities.
- Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals and ability to teach coding concepts.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Commitment to WeCode KC's mission of providing equal opportunity to learn technology regardless of zip code or financial status.
Skills
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, or similar).
- Ability to engage and inspire young learners.
- Classroom or workshop facilitation experience.
- Adaptability and creative problem-solving.
