WEC Drilling Engineer

Assist the PSD team to deliver safe, efficient, and reliable product and service delivery for customers. Develop and deliver optimized technical job designs, identify opportunities for continuous improvement, and support risk management and lessons-learned processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical job designs as required for the Product Line.
• Identify areas where new and cost-effective techniques can be applied.
• Explore opportunities for value-added products and services.
• Provide technical support throughout the service delivery process.
• Understand and communicate the value of technology and interpretations.
• Consult with relevant subject matter experts to optimize technical design.
• Support the OU PSD and/or PSD Manager in execution-phase design changes due to job-dimension changes, resource availability, or service-quality incidents.
• Assist in incident response, recovery, and investigation.
• Support multiple Product Line operations in a collaborative, optimized job design.
• Assist sales and commercial teams in evaluating technical viability and tenders.
• Analyze job execution vs. design and formally capture design improvements and optimization opportunities (lessons learned and best practices).
• Provide real-time support to PSD operations as required.
• Responsible for COSD (resource consumption).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (minimum four-year degree) in Engineering, preferably Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical, or a related technical field; equivalent relevant professional experience may be considered instead of a degree.
• Experience in drilling engineering, well construction, drilling operations, or a related technical discipline.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and optimize technical job designs, provide operational support, and identify opportunities to improve service delivery, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Experience evaluating operational performance, troubleshooting technical issues, and applying lessons learned and best practices to future job designs.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional environment with operations, technical, sales, and commercial teams.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
