About the Role
This position involves operating a concrete mixer truck, driving to job sites, and unloading concrete onto grades, into forms, or into pumps/buckets. The role requires a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and adherence to safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Start engines, operate throttles, switches, levers, and pedals to control the concrete mixer.
- Clean mixer drum after unloading concrete.
- Identify and avoid potential hazards such as utility lines, other equipment, workers, and falling objects.
- Perform routine maintenance and adjustments to ensure proper equipment operation.
- Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures; report unsafe activities to supervisors or HR.
- Participate in team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Lead by example and share knowledge/skills with others.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Proficiency in English for written and oral communications.
- Ability to recognize and understand road signs.
- Knowledge of and adherence to company safety policies and procedures.
- Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
Qualifications
- Education: Less than a high school diploma.
- Experience: Three or more years of related construction experience preferred.
Physical Demands
- Physical Activity Level: Heavy physical activity performing strenuous day-to-day tasks of a primarily productive/technical nature.
- Manual Dexterity: Ability to reach/handle items and work with fingers; perceive attributes of objects and materials.
Working Conditions
- Outdoor exposure to changing weather conditions (rain, sun, snow, wind, etc.).
- Regular exposure to outside weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and high/precarious places.
- Loud noise levels in the work environment.
