Web Development and IT Specialist, Edheads - Board Position

About the role

Edheads is a 501c3 non‑profit that provides exciting games and experiences to millions of K‑12 students, inspiring them to become STEM leaders. Through corporate philanthropy, sponsorships, partnerships and donations, Edheads ties classroom curricula to real‑world challenges and careers, offering free or low‑cost games to teachers, students and parents. The organization's vision is to inspire today’s K‑12 students to become the STEM leaders of tomorrow, believing every student should have the opportunity to develop their potential and fulfill their dreams and career aspirations. Its core values are: Relevance – connecting science and math education standards to real‑world career outcomes; Access – giving educators a way to influence students' future career paths with widely accessible online learning; Quality games – helping teachers, parents, and students meet state and national learning goals through highly interactive and engaging content; Evidence – evaluating the difference made in student STEM knowledge and attitudes toward STEM careers.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a representative on the Board of Directors
• Assist with technical questions
• Help launch a new website that will be seen by millions
• Keep the organization informed of web trends, emerging technologies, and new ways to fulfill the mission

Requirements

• Passion for STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) education or STEM careers
• Desire to help increase the number of K‑12 students interested in or planning to pursue STEM careers
• A sense of humor and a sense of wonder
• Ability to contribute 4‑6 hours per month

Skills

• Familiarity with web technologies and trends
• Experience with website launches or technical oversight

Schedule

Volunteer commitment of 4‑6 hours per month.
