Web Developer - Senior

About the role

The Web Developer Senior provides comprehensive web development services to Air Education and Training Command (AETC) for their websites, enhancing SEO to support Department of the Air Force (DAF) recruiting efforts. They provide ad-hoc performance reports, quarterly reviews, and annual summaries covering website performance, security, and maintenance activities, with AI-generated insights. Reports are tailored to meet DAF stakeholder needs, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain websites for AETC, ensuring compliance with DAF regulations and guidelines.
• Implement updates based on DAF feedback, proactively identifying and recommending improvements.
• Evaluate and integrate new technologies, such as AI, machine learning, and cloud-native solutions, ensuring compatibility with existing systems.
• Maintain 99% uptime and develop a contingency plan to address outages, security incidents, or other disruptions, leveraging AI for predictive maintenance.
• Conduct regular security audits and penetration testing, prioritizing and resolving vulnerabilities promptly using automated tools.
• Collaborate with third-party vendors and DAF stakeholders to ensure operational continuity.

Requirements

• Required: Bachelor’s degree in an Information Technology discipline AND 7 years of web development experience.
• Professional certifications in web development technologies such as Adobe Certified Expert (ACE), Certified Web Development Professional, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD).
• Front-end certifications in frameworks like React or Angular.
• Back-end certifications in languages such as Python, Ruby, or Node.js.
• Database management certifications like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
• Certified training in security practices specific to web development.
• Familiarity with Department of War regulations and guidance.
