WEB DEVELOPER - RAILS - FULL STACK

6–9 month internship in Chicago, Illinois with the possibility of extension or conversion to a full-time, salaried role based on performance, requirements, and availability. Reports to Adrian Delancy, Technology.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Full Stack Web Developer to enhance and maintain the core Digital Factory website and contribute to web applications that help businesses and brands influence consumer interactions with their mobile apps. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are critical to success.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver full-stack web applications.
• Build the front-end and back-end design of websites and software applications.
• Create design plans for the user-facing side of applications, controlling look, feel, and function.
• Structure the back-end of applications, managing program logic and server-database interaction.
• Write, change, and maintain computer programs as directed.
• Deliver finished, professional software products for new projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Applied work experience and/or education directly related to the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Skills

• Basic understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms.
• Basic knowledge of image authoring tools (cropping, resizing, small adjustments).
• Expertise in security compliance and data sources.
• Expertise in database management and microservices.
• Experience with Ruby/Ruby on Rails, CoffeeScript, Haml, CSS Frameworks, Git, and Linux.
• Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5 and CSS3.
• Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery.
• Proficient use of the Git versioning tool.
