Web Developer

About the role

Join Franklin Electric’s Digital Customer Experience (DCX) team as a Web Developer. You’ll build scalable digital products using modern frameworks, contribute to the evolution of our Optimizely CMS and Commerce platform, and help shape the online experiences of customers worldwide. This role is ideal if you enjoy solving complex problems, building clean and maintainable software, and collaborating closely with designers, analysts, and fellow developers.

Responsibilities

• Software Development
  • Develop applications and integrations to support business requirements.
  • Complete necessary testing to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Provide accurate time estimates for development tasks.
  • Follow application methods and quality standards.
• Service Operation
  • Provide technical support for CMS, custom applications, and integrations used by Franklin Electric customers and employees across multiple business units.
  • Infrequently provide off-hours support on evenings and weekends.
  • Maintain or exceed Service Level Agreements for Incident Resolution, measured by Incident Duration for the team.
• Project Management
  • Participate as a resource on projects led by others.
  • Complete assigned project tasks on time and with high quality.

Skills

• Coding – Design, debug, and document software applications and integrations to deliver business outcomes. Translate designer mock-ups and wireframes into front-end code.
• Communication – Deliver accurate, clear, and concise messages orally and/or in writing.
• Problem Solving – Use a logical, systematic approach to identify the source of problems and eliminate potential causes.
• Decision Making – Identify and understand issues, problems, and opportunities; compare alternatives and make timely decisions.
• Meeting Facilitation – Plan and facilitate meetings with IT teammates, internal customers, or technology suppliers to share information and make collaborative decisions.
• Requirements Definition – Elicit and document clear, concise, and agreed-upon internal development or architectural requirements.
• Testing – Plan and facilitate validation activities to ensure technology solutions meet defined requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer information systems, a related degree, or equivalent work experience (preferred).
• Five years of related experience (required).

Qualifications

• .NET development, JavaScript (jQuery, Angular, or React preferred), Microsoft SQL Server, knowledge of web services, web API, and n-tier architecture.
• Familiarity with Content Management Systems.
• Familiarity with pipelines in Azure DevOps for on-premises and cloud delivery.
