Web Developer

Job Description

We are looking for a Sr. Web Application Developer to support the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of a new WordPress-based website for our client. This position will be a 5-month contract and hybrid in Philadelphia, PA.

• Build new WordPress site functionality using WordPress core, Elementor, and third-party plugins
• Create WordPress themes and plugins utilizing PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Create reusable, testable, and efficient code that supports long-term maintainability
• Collaborate with the UX/UI Content Manager to ensure seamless front-end and back-end functionality
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to align deliverables with design, content, branding, and user experience standards
• Develop website features including: Search functionality, File sharing capabilities, Mobile-responsive browsing, Google Analytics integration, Rotating homepage banner functionality
• Support content migration efforts from existing sites
• Ensure adherence to the Managed WordPress Guidelines
• Implement accessibility best practices and maintain WCAG AA compliance standards
• Address bug fixes and provide ongoing website enhancements
• Maintain WordPress core, themes, and plugins to ensure security and stability
• Collaborate with non-technical stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions
• Support post-launch development activities and enhancements following UX testing
• Provide monthly maintenance including monitoring, minor updates, and technical support
• Act as liaison between WP Engine and internal stakeholders regarding technical support and maintenance
