About the role

Telework, up to 2 days per week, may also be available. Telework eligibility is based on job functions and the approval of the Administrative Head.

Responsibilities

  • Provides guidance and assistance for assuring all web content is accessible by all populations.
  • Oversees and remediates documents that are posted on the website to be accessible.
  • Conducts in-depth testing of Judiciary website pages, documents, and videos for accessibility compliance with Section 508 and WCAG criteria.
  • Provides support and technical assistance to content owners using the Judiciary's PDF accessibility software and web content quality assurance system.
  • Aid with various web projects such as content creation, design, and user experience (UX) development for both the internet and intranet sites.
  • Acts as the primary liaison and communicator with local courts to support and maintain accessible content on the website.
  • Coordinates with content owners to update and create new pages and content.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited College or University. Experience: Three (3) years of professional web experience, which must have included working with a content management system; website page design and content management ; experience with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) , accessibility standards and guidelines, accessibility audit and quality assurance tools and processes. Note: Professional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of: Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and Section 508 accessibility standards and guidelines, accessibility audit and quality assurance tools and processes. Accessibility issues and best practices. Assistive software and hardware resources. Web technologies and/or web content management systems. HTML, CSS, and other development/programming tools.
  • Ability to design, modify, and troubleshoot as needed. Job Access with Speech (JAWS) and NonVisual Desktop Access (NVDA). CommonLook.
  • Skill In Conducting accessibility testing on multiple platforms and browsers including iOS and Android mobile devices.
  • Working directly with people from diverse backgrounds and cultivating positive relationships.
  • Microsoft Office Suite or related software, including design and use of spreadsheets and documents. Adobe Creative Cloud products (i.e. Acrobat, Photoshop, etc.).
  • Solving website-related issues and problems.
  • Ability To Maintain confidentiality of documents and records.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with judicial officers, court employees, and others encountered in the course of work.
  • Organize, prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures.
