This position provides custom web development and design for the MLDS website.
Responsibilities
- Provides all aspects of the development and ongoing maintenance of the MLDS website, including design of interfaces that allow users to create customized data inquiries.
- Creates designs and online forms to integrate with agency reporting tools.
- Supports staff who are developing dashboards and online tools to improve technical functionality.
- Develops the mapping structure of database elements used on the Web Portal.
- Designs placement and layout of website pages based on priorities established by management.
- Performs website integration with Power BI, Oracle Web Center, JIRA, and Webflow.
- Updates the website to comply with Digital Accessibility standards.
- Analyzes, designs, and implements Information Technology projects related to the MLDS center.
- Provides technical expert advice and best techniques to guide new changes that help achieve agency goals.
- Performs security-related audits for the MLDS environment and implements security monitoring systems.
- Evaluates the efficiency of operations and develops, revises, and recommends new policies, standards, and workflow procedures using new technology where appropriate.
- Monitors, analyzes, and reports to supervisor on various aspects of website usage on a regular basis.
- Installs and manages user access and controls for agency applications.
- Serves as cloud software admin for products such as JIRA, GovDelivery, Google, etc.
- Creates and maintains documentation on all aspects of the design and functioning of the website.
- Supports the development of source-to-target mapping documentation.
Requirements
- Seven years of experience designing, developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining websites.
- Experience in web application, communication, database, or operating systems software.
Candidates may substitute the following for the required experience:
- Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate and thirty credit hours from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Computer Technology, Management Information Systems, or other information technology-related field (to include coursework in application, communication, database, or operating systems software technology) for four years of the required experience.
- Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate and one year of experience designing, developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining application, communication, database, or operating systems software for four years of the required experience.
- Experience operating computer systems; scheduling, controlling input and output to process data on computer systems; evaluating, implementing, and maintaining computer hardware and software; or converting data from project specifications by developing program code using generally accepted computer programming languages on a year-for-year basis for a high school education.
- Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Computer Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or other information technology-related field (to include coursework in application, communication, database, or operating systems software technology) and three years of experience designing, developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining application, communication, database, or operating systems software for the required experience.
- U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in the Computer Systems Operations classifications or Computer Systems Operations specialty codes in the Information Technology field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
