Software / Systems Architect Technical Specialist

Responsibilities

The Software/Systems Architect will support the Sponsor and work with a product owner in defining system requirements and mission value increments (MVIs) for multiple services provided to external stakeholders. This requires interacting with mission partners, portfolio owners, customer account managers, and business analysts to elicit, understand, and document MVIs for the system.

• Document, analyze, and review software requirements for a larger software development team responsible for the development, testing, and installation of the system.
• Interact with multiple stakeholders to assess and understand the requirements to ensure that user stories are consistent and applicable across all services.
• Manage and verify requirements, capturing detailed descriptions of user needs and service functionality.
• Analyze and study complex system requirements.
• Analyze functional business applications for functional activities.
• Perform requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications, as required.
• Work as part of an agile team, utilizing Kanban and Scrum best practices.
• Maintain Jira dashboards to help manage customer meetings.
• Analyze Jira contents across teams.

Qualifications

Must possess and be able to maintain a TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph. A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a scientific or technical discipline. BS 10-12, MS 8-10, PhD 5-7 years of experience. Demonstrated knowledge of solutions to complex application problems. Ability to analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing systems and to review computer system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations. Demonstrated knowledge of enterprise data strategy, data governance practices, data stewardship principles, data architecture principles, data standards, and metadata management best practices. Experience with successful full-lifecycle software development projects. Ability to translate requirements into end-to-end designs for systems that involve multiple interfaces and supporting data repositories.
