Weatherization Technician

About the role

The Weatherization Technician performs duties related to the rehabilitation and weatherization of customers' homes, including preparation and completion of home improvement and weatherization services.

Responsibilities

• Report to and assist the assigned Foreman.
• Load and unload department vehicles.
• Maintain and inventory equipment, tools, and materials.
• Develop and apply skills in home improvement, rehabilitation, weatherization, and energy-saving techniques.
• Safely operate tools and equipment required for the job.
• Ensure satisfactory completion of assigned work.
• Attend and participate in work-related training and seminars as directed.
• Comply with Partners policies, State, and Local Program guidelines.
• Assist in preparation and completion of home repair, improvement, and weatherization tasks (e.g., measuring and clean-up).
• Respect customers' property and maintain confidentiality of their personal information.
• Foster positive relationships with peers and supervisors.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Willingness to learn the operation of blower doors, pressure diagnostic tools, carbon monoxide analyzers, furnace analyzers, and other job-related equipment.
• Knowledge of home improvement, carpentry, and/or weatherization/insulation techniques.
• Ability to read and decipher work orders and perform basic math related to construction and material estimation.
• Ability to interact well with diverse personalities.
• Capability to perform physically demanding tasks in extreme weather conditions and confined spaces (e.g., attics, crawl spaces).
• Ability to use ladders and work at heights up to four stories.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 60 lbs.
• Valid Wisconsin driver’s license, auto insurance, and a good driving record.
