About the role
Transporting pigs within Iowa Select Farms' production flow while adhering to strict biosecurity, animal wellbeing, and safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to ISF bio-security policy at all times and report any violations to management team.
- Adhere to ISF animal wellbeing policy at all times and know reporting procedures when incidents occur.
- Adhere to ISF safety policies and procedures, wearing appropriate PPE and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Safely operate a pickup/fifth wheel combination while transporting hogs.
- Keep accurate records and move animals as needed.
- Give feedback to management regarding delivery and unloading of pigs at nursery facilities.
- Maintain the cleanliness and disinfect the truck and wean trailer.
- Be positive and professional at all times, focusing on animal welfare rather than personal issues.
- Be presentable and ready to drive by the start time given, be friendly, positive, helpful, team-oriented, and respectful to co-workers and management team.
- Flexibly work during health and staffing challenges.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Bilingual skills are not required but are beneficial.
- Ideal candidates have livestock hauling experience, though it is not mandatory.
- Must be physically capable of lifting up to 40 pounds and climbing over gates up to 48 inches in height.
- Ability to crouch between the double decks in the trailers while loading and unloading pigs.

Work Environment
This position is primarily performed outdoors and involves frequent changes in daily environment due to weekly schedules. Employees must be comfortable working in various facility environments, including exposure to extreme weather conditions. The work environment can be noisy, and tasks may involve sitting for extended periods while driving.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position requiring at least 40 hours per week. Additional availability may be required during staffing challenges, including occasional evening hours and weekends as needed.
Travel
Local travel will be required for this position using a company vehicle.
