Wealth Management Specialist
About the role
This EGP Trainee position is a training program designed to develop and prepare candidates to service the Financial Advisor (FA) Teams' client base. The role allows the EGP Specialist to become fully licensed and obtain the required designations before advancing to the full EGP Specialist role. Operating in a marketing and sales development capacity, the position focuses on implementing and executing the Elite Growth Practice (EGP). Specific accountabilities may vary depending on the FA team’s practice, with performance measured through goals, metrics, and behaviors tied to the EGP model.
This role is an FA Paid Resource and may be filled at a Trainee, Specialist, or Senior level based on the candidate’s experience and the needs of the Financial Advisor Team. The Trainee is a non-exempt position for hires lacking required security licenses and/or designations, allowing the individual to become fully licensed and achieve the necessary credentials for the Specialist role.
This position is subject to SAFE Act registration requirements. Employees engaged in residential loan mortgage originations must register with the federal registry system and remain in good standing. Failure to comply may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
Responsibilities
- Develop and service client segments, including next generations and beneficiaries, to gather additional assets and deepen relationships by partnering with Merrill partners to deliver comprehensive solutions.
- Coordinate technological support, including portfolio analysis, proposals, and direct mail campaigns using Salesforce and other tools.
- Provide technical expertise in product areas such as Corporate 401(k), Rule 144, Insurance, and Wealth Management Workstation.
- Offer marketing and organizational support to FA teams.
- Maintain an understanding of the Chief Investment Office (CIO) philosophy, proprietary planning, and investment management tools.
- Monitor, analyze, and review the current market environment and research portfolio recommendations.
- Manage client portfolios to align with goals, objectives, risk tolerance, and time horizons.
- Review and manage team proprietary models to align with market assumptions by participating in CIO and manager updates.
- Create analytical reports for Financial Advisors to review client investment portfolio performance against market returns.
- Assess and communicate pricing findings to clients to ensure understanding of the value of advice and solutions.
- Leverage specialists and financial planning tools to deliver holistic investment solutions.
Requirements
- Either Series 7 and 66 licenses or Series 7, 63, and 65 licenses; must obtain all state registrations held by the Financial Advisor(s) and Advisor Team(s) they support. If not currently held, these must be obtained within a specified timeframe to advance to the Specialist position.
- SAFE Act Registration and ADV-2B required.
- Obtain and/or maintain at least one firm-approved designation.
- Strong communication skills and a thorough understanding of Wealth Management products and services.
- Analytical and portfolio management skills to identify trends and implement investment strategies for growth and risk mitigation.
- Ability to make sound decisions based on a deep understanding of investment management best practices and policies.
- Identify client needs and articulate appropriate solutions aligned with their goals in a suitable and controlled manner.
