About the Role
This EGP Trainee position is a training program designed to develop and prepare candidates to further develop and service the Financial Advisor (FA) Teams' client base. The Trainee role allows individuals to become fully licensed and obtain the appropriate designations before advancing to the full EGP Specialist role. This position operates in a marketing and sales development capacity by implementing and executing the Elite Growth Practice (EGP). Specific accountabilities may vary depending on the team’s practice, with performance measured through specific goals, metrics, and behaviors related to the execution of the EGP model.
The Elite Growth Practice (EGP) Relationship Manager position may be filled at a Trainee, Specialist, or Senior level, depending on the candidate's experience and the needs of the Financial Advisor Team. The Trainee is a non-exempt position for hires lacking required security licenses and/or designations, allowing the individual to become fully licensed and achieve the necessary credentials for the role. If Series 7 and 66 (or 63 & 65) licenses and an approved designation are not currently held, they must be obtained within a specified timeframe to be eligible for the Specialist position.
This role may be responsible for the provision of residential mortgage loans and is subject to SAFE Act registration requirements. Employees engaged in residential mortgage loan originations must register with the federal registry system and remain in good standing. Failure to maintain SAFE Act registration may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
Responsibilities
- Develop and service client segments, including the next generation and their beneficiaries.
- Gather additional assets from the existing client base and deepen relationships by partnering with all Merrill partners to deliver comprehensive solutions.
- Coordinate technological support through portfolio analysis, proposals, and direct mail campaigns using Salesforce and other tools.
- Provide technical expertise in product areas such as Corporate 401(k), Rule 144, Insurance, and Wealth Management Workstation.
- Provide marketing and organizational support to the FA team.
- Identify and own the client onboarding and offboarding processes.
- Document client interactions and provide the team with time-sensitive updates.
- Assist the Financial Advisor Team and/or Senior Business Manager in developing and monitoring the team’s client book segmentation strategy.
- Engage specialists and partners to address client needs.
- Attend client review meetings to assist in re-discovery conversations, capture notes, and track actions in Salesforce to ensure the highest level of client service.
- Monitor and report on client satisfaction and manage the resolution of client escalations.
Requirements
- Either Series 7 and 66 licenses or Series 7, 63, and 65 licenses; must obtain all state registrations held by the Financial Advisor(s) and Advisor Team(s) they support.
- SAFE Act Registration (if applicable).
- Maintain a Form ADV-2B, providing clients with details on experience, educational background, and other SEC requirements.
- Obtain and/or maintain at least one firm-approved designation.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to lead through collaboration and influence without direct authority.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of Wealth Management products and services.
- Proven ability to manage risk and support sound decisions.
- Ability to research and resolve escalated client issues.
Qualifications
Minimum education requirement: High School Diploma, GED, Secondary School, or equivalent.
Schedule
1st shift (United States of America), 37.5 hours per week.
