Wealth Management Advisor

Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary advisor for some client relationships while partnering with senior advisors on others
  • Develop a deep understanding of each client’s financial and family situation using a "human first" approach
  • Prepare, review, and present comprehensive, goals-based financial plans
  • Prepare for and participate in client review meetings, with increasing responsibility for leading meetings over time
  • Manage existing client relationships and respond thoughtfully to planning inquiries and service requests
  • Collaborate closely with other TandemGrowth advisors in delivering thoughtful planning advice and exceptional client service
  • Coincide proactively with clients' attorneys, accountants, and other professionals regarding estate planning, tax planning, risk management, and other planning matters
  • Partner with clients to evaluate tradeoffs and navigate decisions involving retirement, cash flow, taxes, debt, charitable giving, education planning, insurance, estate planning, and investments
  • Present and discuss the TandemGrowth investment philosophy and explain investment results in a way clients can easily understand
  • Establish each client's need, ability, and tolerance for risk and help develop appropriate investment and cash flow strategies
  • Address client investment questions within the context of a comprehensive financial planning framework
  • Become proficient in all technology tools used in the firm's wealth management process
  • Be an active participant in improving and growing the firm
  • Support the firm's growth through exceptional client service, relationship management, and participation in business development activities
  • Contribute to client retention, referrals, and long-term relationship growth
  • Participate in introductory and discovery meetings with prospective clients
  • Develop relationships with and serve clients' adult children through the firm's Next Gen service model
  • Support firm marketing, educational events, and community engagement efforts as appropriate

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
  • CFP® designation required
  • 3+ years of experience in financial planning, wealth management, or a related advisory role
  • Experience supporting and/or managing client relationships
  • Ability to successfully pass criminal background and credit checks

Preferred but not required

  • Experience leading client meetings
  • Experience developing new client relationships
  • Familiarity with MoneyGuidePro, Orion, FP Alpha, HiddenLevers, and YCharts

Required Skills & Attributes

  • Deep understanding of comprehensive financial planning principles
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable presenting planning recommendations and discussing financial concepts with clients
  • Ability to accurately enter and analyze client information within planning software
  • Strong listening skills and thoughtful problem-solving abilities
  • Self-motivated with strong initiative and personal accountability
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail
  • Committed to putting clients first and upholding fiduciary standards
  • Collaborative team player who enjoys working with others to serve clients well
