Lead integration of functions to meet goals, deploy new products, and align with the Supervisory Platform Target State vision.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze complex business and system processes to design and build Risk and Compliance checks and automation.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders including Business, Product Owners, Operations, Testing Teams, and Technology teams for end-to-end project execution.
  • Develop application methodologies and standards for program analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging, and implementation.
  • Utilize advanced knowledge of supported main system flows and comprehensive knowledge of multiple areas to achieve technology goals.
  • Consult with end users to identify system function specifications and incorporate them into overall system design.
  • Allocate work and act as an advisor/coach to developers, analysts, and new team members.
  • Influence and negotiate with senior leaders and communicate with external parties.
  • Appropriately assess risk when making business decisions, demonstrating consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, ensuring adherence to best practices, coding standards, and architectural principles.
  • Lead the architectural design and evolution of Alternative and Mutual Funds platforms, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Oversee the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design to implementation, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Work closely with product owners, business stakeholders, and other technical teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Mentor and coach junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in financial technology, AI, and blockchain.
  • Drive the identification, evaluation, and integration of AI tools and machine learning models to enhance platform capabilities, automate processes, and generate insights.
  • Spearhead initiatives related to the tokenization of assets, understanding blockchain technologies, smart contracts, and their application within financial services.
  • Own business continuity end-to-end — RTO/RPO definition, failover automation, DR drills, data replication, and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; Master’s degree preferred.

Skills

  • Languages: Deep hands-on expertise in Java (8–21) — Spring Boot, concurrency, JVM tuning, REST/gRPC API design; proficient in Python for scripting, automation, and tooling.
  • Databases: Strong in relational DBs (Oracle, SQL optimization, JPA/Hibernate, schema migrations) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch) with sound data modeling and performance tuning skills.
  • Messaging: Hands-on experience with Kafka — topic partitioning, consumer groups, dead-letter queues, and event-driven/saga patterns.
  • Networking: Solid grasp of TLS/mTLS, HTTP/2, load balancing, service mesh, and API gateways; able to troubleshoot latency and connectivity issues in distributed systems.
  • Monitoring & Observability: Proficient with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, and distributed tracing (OpenTelemetry).
  • Stability & Resilience: Applies circuit breakers, retries, bulkheads, and chaos engineering to maintain high availability.
  • Domain Expertise: Knowledge of Rules Engine and Workflows as a solution for RDIP (Retail Distribution of Investment Products). Working experience with Client Suitability, Financial Product risk evaluation, Managed Portfolio suitability and governance. Understanding of standard Financial products like Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives, and front-to-back processes in Alternative and Mutual Funds, including order management, trade execution, post-trade processing, fund accounting, and regulatory reporting.
  • System Design: Extensive hands-on experience in building large-scale platforms.

Pay

Full-time salary range: $176,720.00 - $265,080.00.
