This position supports Wealth Firm Operations across multiple functions while developing subject matter knowledge within assigned operational areas. Daily work may rotate among the department’s sub-units to build broad operational expertise, providing exposure to core Firm Operations processes and supporting the development of a long-term career path within the function.
Responsibilities
- Assist with trade settlement, cash movement, and reconciliation processes.
- Monitor the daily transaction flows to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
- Support account opening, maintenance, and closure activities in accordance with operational requirements.
- Maintain client and account records within internal systems to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Perform data entry, validation, and quality control checks to comply with firm standards.
- Generate operational reports and dashboards for management review and process monitoring.
- Provide back-office support to advisors and relationship managers by resolving operational inquiries.
- Coordinate with custodians, banks, and counterparties to resolve processing issues.
- Serve as a floater to support multiple operational sub-units during absences or peak workload periods.
- Learn multiple operational functions to ensure broad transactional coverage capability.
- Routinely make decisions or approve transactions within the role’s designated authority.
- Use advanced subject matter knowledge and skillset to shift between two or more subunits in Firm Operations seamlessly.
- Perform all additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED and 8 or more years of experience in the financial services industry OR
- High School Diploma or GED and 4 years of experience in a similarly situated wealth management operations department OR
- Associate's Degree in a business-related field plus 3 years of experience in a role pertaining to financial operations, particularly cash control in a financial institution OR
- Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field plus 1 year of experience in a role pertaining to financial operations or securities industry-related business.
- Aptitude for attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data.
- Ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities and tasks.
- Effective communication skills for liaising with internal teams and external partners.
- Solid understanding of more than one subunit of wealth management firm operations.
- Proven ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities and tasks while maintaining strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, reporting tools, and core operations systems.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time and use a computer keyboard and/or mouse requiring hand and wrist manipulation while viewing computer screens.
