Nedbank Private and Wealth – High Net Worth is building a talent pipeline for current and future opportunities in Cape Town, Johannesburg, and Kwa-Zulu Natal. This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days per week in the office.
About the role
As a Wealth Banker, you will partner with affluent clients to understand their unique financial aspirations and deliver tailored advice and holistic banking solutions that help them grow, protect, and preserve their wealth. Responsibilities
- Acquire and deliver banking solutions to the high-value client segment (Small Business Services, Professional/Financially Affluent) by providing exceptional client experiences and understanding both business and household banking needs.
- Meet targeted products and services as measured through client management systems and contribution statements.
- Improve client service by delivering relevant products and services according to client needs.
- Maintain and build a portfolio of high-value, complex clients.
- Identify and execute on client sales and solution opportunities.
- Conduct thorough needs analysis across all client spheres of financial influence to entrench clients within Nedbank.
- Respond to tasks and responsibilities within agreed timelines.
- Build and maintain effective professional relationships with high-value clients through contact management.
- Deliver banking solutions that meet client needs and understand their business, personal, and household requirements.
- Build sustainable client relationships and instill trust that Nedbank is best placed to manage the complexity of their financial needs.
- Proactively engage clients in a manner relevant to their specific circumstances.
- Collaborate with specialists in client engagements to cross-sell and create value-based solutions.
- Ensure work complies with agreed principles, processes, and procedures; review progress and take corrective action where necessary.
- Adhere to risk standards, policies, and procedures as required by the group compliance framework.
- Facilitate client compliance correctness in line with Nedbank internal and regulatory standards.
- Identify and resolve work-related obstacles and problems, escalating to senior management when necessary.
- Contribute to improving policies, procedures, standards, and processes using your experience and insights.
- Understand the bank’s risk and credit policy and manage client expectations accordingly.
- Obtain buy-in for new or enhanced processes by highlighting benefits to stakeholders.
- Comply with internal standard procedures to facilitate the execution of client requirements.
- Support the achievement of business strategy, objectives, and values by aligning delivered systems, processes, services, and solutions.
- Identify training courses and career progression opportunities through input and feedback from management.
- Complete all personal development plan activities within specified timeframes.
- Share knowledge and industry trends with the team and stakeholders during formal and informal interactions.
- Contribute to a culture conducive to transformation goals by participating in Nedbank culture-building initiatives (e.g., staff surveys).
- Support corporate responsibility initiatives aligned with business strategy.
- Seek opportunities to improve business processes and systems by identifying effective ways to operate and add value to Nedbank.
Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate (NQF Level 4).
- Advanced Diploma or National 1st Degree (preferred qualification: Degree in Business, Finance, Commerce, or Economics).
- FAIS representative certification (preferably a Key Individual).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Financial Services, Banking, or Wealth Management, with at least 2 years as a relationship banker for high-net-worth clients.
