Waynesburg University

Waynesburg University Department of Athletics is seeking a graduate student to assist staff and coaches with the day-to-day operations of the department, specifically assigned to Men’s Basketball. The position entails working 19 hours a week in the Athletic Department and reports to the Head Men’s Basketball Coach and Director of Athletics.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the direction of the men’s basketball program
• Assist in the organization of practice sessions
• Work in accordance with all staff members of the Athletics Department and Waynesburg University
• Represent Waynesburg University Athletic Department in a positive manner
• Recruit qualified student athletes to participate in the athletic program, as directed by the Head Men’s Basketball Coach
• Assist in the preparation of game and practice sites
• Communicate the mission of the University and the goals of the Athletic Department to student-athletes
• Serve as site administrator for home athletic events out of season
• Comply with all rules affiliated with Waynesburg University, the Presidents’ Athletic Conference, and Division III of the NCAA
• Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Head Men’s Basketball Coach and/or Director of Athletics

Requirements

• Successfully enroll in a graduate program at Waynesburg University (Masters of Business Administration)
• Strong organizational, communication, and computer skills
• Familiarity with software such as Microsoft Office Suite, Synergy, Hudl, ARI, Slate, etc.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and meet established work deadlines
• Availability to work evenings, Sundays, and occasional weekends
