Wayfinding Strategist
About the role
As a Wayfinding Strategist at HDR, you will join a team of multi-disciplinary designers to participate in the strategic planning of the user experience and wayfinding methodology. Your responsibilities include developing wayfinding masterplans, programming sign locations and messages, and assisting in the fabrication of regional projects.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate on developing user experience, wayfinding methodology and wayfinding masterplans.
- Develop wayfinding methodology and programming to coordinate with design.
- Iterate studies to evaluate design with the functional needs of the system.
- Assist with visualizations that effectively communicate the project concepts.
- Participate in internal planning sessions and design critiques.
- Participate in client reviews and work sessions.
- Collaborate and interface with project stakeholders and partners.
- Demonstrate studio/team leadership.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years experience in planning, design, marketing, or related field.
- Ability to read architectural construction documents.
- Understanding of branding/brand development, communications, and research.
- Experience working on projects involving multiple disciplines.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Client- and team-oriented with strong communication and relationship management skills.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator) and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Experience with CAD and Revit/BIM360.
Preferred Qualifications
- Provide and review work samples which speak to experience.
- Associate degree in a relevant discipline or combination of education and relevant experience.
- Experienced with the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator).
- Experienced with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Experienced with CAD and Revit/BIM360.
