Watkinson Creative Fellowships

About the Fellowship

The Watkinson Library Fellowship invites students with diverse talents—whether in art, music, writing, technology, engineering, athletics, or any other creative field—to explore the library’s collections and produce something new. Projects may take any form, including drawing, painting, sculpture, writing, music, video, digital media, performance, or other innovative mediums.

Requirements

• Proposals must demonstrate feasibility, relevance, and significance.
• The project must be completable within one semester.
• The project must be clearly based on or inspired by an item or collection in the Watkinson Library.
• Applicants must explain why the project merits support.

Eligibility

Any enrolled student (including IDP) may apply.

Award Details

• Fellowships last one semester.
• Award amount: $1,500, delivered upon project completion.
• Fellows are expected to meet monthly with the Curator to report on progress.
• Fellows will present their projects at an annual reception.
