About the role

A.B.I. RESOURCES is seeking Direct Support Professionals to provide support to individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities across various programs. The role involves hands-on care to assist clients with activities of daily living such as personal hygiene, food preparation, transportation, and daily documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on care to assist clients with activities of daily living.
  • Support clients with safety, organization skills, medical and therapeutic rehab homework, medication reminders, social entertainment, finding meaningful employment, money management, and social skills.
  • Work a flexible schedule, including at different sites and programs as needed.

Requirements

  • One to three years of healthcare experience.
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.
  • Smart-Phone and Tablet Skills.
  • Background Check and Drug Testing before hire.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including at different sites and programs as needed.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience helping people recovering from strokes, concussions, and/or brain injury within community settings.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Basic computer skills, including smartphone and tablet usage.
  • Passing background check and drug testing.

Skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of basic first aid and emergency response procedures.
