Water & Wastewater Treatment Operator (Entry-Level or Certified)

Job Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine water and wastewater tests
  • Enter test results and readings into the logbook and data management system
  • Collect regulatory samples and meter readings
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and report needed repairs
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on equipment
  • Track lab supplies and inform the manager when supplies need replenishing
  • Aid teammates and train staff as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness and organize the facility
  • Follow safety guidelines and report safety concerns
  • Respond to on-call emergencies
  • Report issues and operational changes to the manager
  • Perform additional duties as required

Requirements

  • Obtain water/wastewater certifications as part of career development
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid state driver’s license with a history of responsible driving
  • Ability to speak and hear for 4-8 hours/day
  • Ability to walk and stand for 4-8 hours/day
  • Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, and operate various tools

Qualifications

  • Technical or mechanical experience preferred
  • Proficiency with computers and software applications

Work Schedule

40 hours per week with a rotating on-call schedule.

Work Location

The primary work locations are Claremont and Newbury, New Hampshire, with regular travel between these sites as needed.
