Water-Wastewater Project Engineer

Job Duties

Lead and contribute to multidisciplinary teams delivering innovative water and wastewater infrastructure solutions from planning through construction. Projects include collection and conveyance systems, water distribution networks, pump stations, storage and treatment facilities, as well as system evaluations, rehabilitation, and renewal and replacement initiatives.

Provide technical execution and oversight of design projects including schematic/preliminary design, design development, final design, specifications, permitting, bid-phase services, and construction contract document production.

Direct and manage a project team of engineers and technicians.

Lead water/wastewater consulting tasks, including planning, detailed design calculations, alternative analysis and selection, cost estimating, equipment selection, project prioritization, and CIP development.

Provide schedule and budget development and management for safety, quality assurance/quality control, while maintaining a high level of client satisfaction.

Mentor and guide junior staff while building your leadership profile and technical expertise.

Requires regular client-facing interaction and periodic work from client offices and in the field to support collaboration, delivery, and inspection.

Oversees small to mid-size, or multidiscipline project teams.

Recommends personnel and funds required to carry out projects.

Oversees technical, legal, and financial task issues.

Integrates these components into a complete project management plan for engineering projects.

Determines project task objectives and requirements.

Management Responsibility

Receives administrative supervision with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits.

Implements staff development plans within their organizational segment, including technical, management, and leadership skills.

Demonstrates financial acumen and familiarity with legal issues related to engineering practice.
