Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership & Project Delivery:
- Lead planning and design for municipal water and wastewater systems, including conveyance and pumping systems, storage and distribution systems, collection systems, and treatment facilities.
- Manage complex design tasks and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
- Prepare and oversee engineering deliverables including plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and design standards.
- Serve as Engineer of Record or technical lead on projects.
- Team Leadership & Mentorship:
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and technical staff.
- Review work for technical accuracy and quality.
- Support team development and contribute to a collaborative environment.
- Client Engagement & Business Development:
- Build and maintain relationships with municipal (special purpose district and/or city) clients and regulatory agencies.
- Support proposal development, interviews, and pursuit strategies.
- Participate in professional organizations and industry engagement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field); PE license required or ability to obtain 10+ years of progressive civil engineering experience, with a focus on water and wastewater systems.
- Strong experience in municipal (city and/or special purpose district) water/wastewater system design.
- Proven ability to lead design efforts and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience managing or supporting projects through all phases of delivery.
- Familiarity with public agency processes, permitting requirements, and regulatory coordination.
- Proficiency with standard engineering tools (e.g., hydraulic modelling, drafting/design software, Bluebeam, spreadsheets).
- Strong communication and technical writing skills.
- Experience mentoring or supervising junior staff.
