About the role

The Water and Environment team at David Evans and Associates, Inc., specializes in managing complex whole-system resources. We provide comprehensive solutions in natural resources and water/wastewater management, emphasizing meticulous planning, thorough analysis, and sophisticated design.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning and design for municipal water and wastewater systems, including conveyance and pumping systems, storage and distribution systems, collection systems, and treatment facilities.

  • Manage complex design tasks and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.

  • Prepare and oversee engineering deliverables such as plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and design standards.

  • Serve as Engineer of Record or technical lead on projects.

  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and technical staff.

  • Support team development and contribute to a collaborative environment.

  • Build and maintain relationships with municipal (special purpose district and/or city) clients and regulatory agencies.

  • Support proposal development, interviews, and pursuit strategies.

  • Participate in professional organizations and industry engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field); PE license required or ability to obtain 10+ years of progressive civil engineering experience, with a focus on water and wastewater systems.

  • Strong experience in municipal (city and/or special purpose district) water/wastewater system design.

  • Proven ability to lead design efforts and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.

  • Experience managing or supporting projects through all phases of delivery.

  • Familiarity with public agency processes, permitting requirements, and regulatory coordination.

  • Proficiency with standard engineering tools (e.g., hydraulic modelling, drafting/design software, Bluebeam, spreadsheets).

  • Strong communication and technical writing skills.

  • Experience mentoring or supervising junior staff.

Pay

$140,000/annually - $200,000/annually
