Primary Function

The Project Manager is responsible for the full life cycle (proposal-initiation-execution/control-closeout) of projects and assumes full responsibility for achieving the project goals. This includes managing activities related to project planning, scope, schedule, cost, cash flow, quality, communications, resources, procurement, profit/loss, corrective actions, and risk elements required to optimize client service, quality, and fiscal responsibility.

Primary Duties

  • Project Planning and Execution
    • Identify project goals and develop scopes, budgets, schedules, and work plans for municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects
    • Manage projects through all phases, including planning, design, permitting, bidding, and construction support
    • Apply Earned Value Management (EVM) to execute, monitor, and control project financial performance
    • Manage change and implement corrective actions to maintain scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives
    • Ensure Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) reviews are completed at appropriate milestones
    • Identify, manage, and mitigate technical, financial, and schedule risks in the interest of Ardurra and the client
    • Understand and administer contract requirements, including scope, fee, schedule, and deliverables
    • Track Accounts Receivable, support invoicing, and ensure timely collection of payments
  • Team Leadership
    • Form and lead effective multi-disciplinary project teams (engineering, design, and support staff)
    • Assign responsibilities and ensure tasks are initiated, executed, and completed in accordance with project schedules
    • Provide day-to-day leadership and technical coordination for smaller projects, with oversight or support on larger programs
    • Mentor and support staff development while maintaining productivity and morale
    • Cookordinate on-site or field activities as needed, interacting appropriately with client and contractor counterparts
  • Communication and Client Management
    • Establish and maintain a client–contractor–consultant communication framework to keep stakeholders informed of project status
    • Participate in Project Status Review (PSR) meetings to ensure:
      • Contract terms, conditions, and technical requirements are met
      • Project activities comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulatory requirements
      • Schedule delays and cost overruns are proactively identified and minimized
      • Staffing, equipment, materials, and quality issues are addressed in a timely manner
      • Information required for progress billing is accurate and submitted on time
    • Support client relationship management and assist the Client Service Manager (CSM) with client coordination and business development efforts
    • Maintain ongoing relationships with clients to support repeat work and long-term partnerships

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Environmental, or related discipline) or equivalent
  • 5–8 years of experience within the AEC industry, with a focus on municipal water and wastewater projects, including one or more of the following:
    • Water and wastewater treatment facilities
    • Lift stations and pump stations
    • Water and wastewater process engineering improvements
    • Waterlines, transmission mains, sanitary sewer, and force mains
  • Demonstrated experience managing smaller projects and leading project teams through design and delivery
  • Experience coordinating with municipal clients, regulatory agencies, and multi-disciplinary design teams
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license for the State of Texas is preferred
