About the role

The Water/Wastewater Infrastructure Engineer position at David Evans and Associates, Inc., is part of the Water and Environment team. This team specializes in managing complex whole-system resources and offers comprehensive solutions in natural resources and water/wastewater management. Responsibilities

  • Engineering & Design
    • Perform planning and design for water and wastewater infrastructure systems
    • Support development of conveyance and pumping systems, storage and distribution systems, collection systems, and treatment facilities
    • Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, plans, and specifications
    • Aid in permitting and regulatory coordination
  • Project Support
    • Contribute to project delivery including scope, schedule, and budget adherence
    • Support task leadership on projects and coordinate with internal teams
    • Collaborate with drafters, EITs, and other technical staff
  • Growth & Development
    • Participate in mentorship and development of junior staff
    • Continue developing technical expertise and professional skills
    • Contribute to a collaborative environment
    • Participate in professional organizations and industry engagement

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field); EIT required, PE or ability to obtain preferred
  • 4–8 years of experience in civil engineering, with exposure to water and wastewater system design
  • Experience supporting municipal (city and/or special purpose district) water/wastewater projects
  • Familiarity with water/wastewater design principles and engineering fundamentals
  • Working knowledge of public agency standards, permitting, and regulatory requirements
  • Proficiency with standard engineering tools (e.g., hydraulic modeling, drafting/design software, Bluebeam, spreadsheets)
  • Ability to support design tasks and collaborate effectively within project teams
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills

Pay

Potential salary range: $100,000/annually - $140,000/annually
