Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains and documents communication with clients through letters and telephone throughout the development and completion of a project.
- Makes sure team members stay on schedule and informs them of deadlines.
- Checks project schedules and budgets against actual progress and completion.
- Attends meetings on project management.
- Assists Project Managers with any administrative tasks related to the project.
- Maintains project files.
- Helps prepare engineering studies and reports.
- Provides technical guidance and training to team members.
- Performs project design using sound engineering principles, engineering software, and AutoCAD.
- Prepares contract documents and technical specifications.
- Affirms that quality control procedures are carried out.
- Prepares project drawings.
- Conducts necessary code research.
- Ensures accuracy of each part of the work and the final check of the work.
- Adheres to all applicable codes.
- Provides leadership, guidance, and mentoring to engineering staff.
Requirements
- Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Chemical Engineering (degrees in other fields WILL NOT be considered); Masters degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering is a plus, but not required (again, degrees in any other field WILL NOT be considered).
- Must have a strong desire for a career working in the Water and Wastewater field (including the design of treatment facilities, collection systems, booster and pump stations, water, reclaimed water, and wastewater master plans).
- Must have computer experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Must have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Must have a strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines.
- Must be detail-oriented and able to contribute to a positive work environment.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with an approved/acceptable driving history.
- Must have familiarity with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD platforms.
