Water/Wastewater EIT Design Engineer

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintains and documents communication with clients through letters and telephone throughout the development and completion of a project.
• Makes sure team members stay on schedule and informs them of deadlines.
• Checks project schedules and budgets against actual progress and completion.
• Attends meetings on project management.
• Assists Project Managers with any administrative tasks related to the project.
• Maintains project files.
• Helps prepare engineering studies and reports.
• Provides technical guidance and training to team members.
• Performs project design using sound engineering principles, engineering software, and AutoCAD.
• Prepares contract documents and technical specifications.
• Affirms that quality control procedures are carried out.
• Prepares project drawings.
• Conducts necessary code research.
• Ensures accuracy of each part of the work and the final check of the work.
• Adheres to all applicable codes.
• Provides leadership, guidance, and mentoring to engineering staff.

Requirements

• Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Chemical Engineering (degrees in other fields WILL NOT be considered); Masters degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering is a plus, but not required (again, degrees in any other field WILL NOT be considered).
• Must have a strong desire for a career working in the Water and Wastewater field (including the design of treatment facilities, collection systems, booster and pump stations, water, reclaimed water, and wastewater master plans).
• Must have computer experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Must have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Must have a strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines.
• Must be detail-oriented and able to contribute to a positive work environment.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with an approved/acceptable driving history.
• Must have familiarity with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD platforms.
