About the role

This role supports planning, preliminary, and detailed designs of water/wastewater and stormwater pump facilities. You will also perform condition assessments and rehabilitation planning for existing pump station infrastructure, prepare plans and reports, and conduct field investigations and construction observations.

Responsibilities

  • Support planning level, preliminary, and detailed designs of water/wastewater and stormwater pump facilities under instruction from the Project Engineer or person in responsible charge.
  • Support condition assessments and rehabilitation planning for existing pump station infrastructure.
  • Prepare plans for water and wastewater systems, write specifications, analysis and study-level reports for water and wastewater treatment distribution and collection systems, determine appropriate design methods, equipment sizing and selection, and work directly with the owner.
  • Perform as part of a quality assurance team and conduct quality control reviews of completed deliverables.
  • Perform field investigations, site visits, and construction observation to ensure compliance with design documents.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • A Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or related field) or Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate and ability to obtain.
  • Candidates without EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression.
  • Experience in water/wastewater/water resources projects, focusing on water/wastewater treatment, pump stations, and pipelines, or water resources/stormwater preferred.
  • Local candidates are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field.
  • Interest or experience designing water/wastewater treatment facilities.
  • AutoCAD and/or MicroStation experience.
  • Microsoft Office experience.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
