Responsibilities
- Safely operate a water truck throughout quarry and production areas.
- Apply water to haul roads, stockpiles, traffic routes, crushing areas, and work zones to control dust and improve visibility.
- Maintain road conditions and monitor proper moisture levels for safe equipment operation.
- Adjust watering activities based on weather, traffic volume, and production demands.
- Refill water tanks and monitor equipment performance throughout the shift.
- Affix to haul roads and quarry access routes by identifying and reporting potholes, washouts, erosion, and other roadway hazards.
- Support production activities by watering active loading, crushing, and screening areas.
- Coordinate with loaders, excavators, haul trucks, and crushing crews to support efficient operations.
- Assist with general site housekeeping and cleanup efforts.
- Perform daily pre-shift and post-shift inspections of fluid levels, tires, lights, brakes, pumps, hoses, and spray systems.
- Report maintenance concerns and equipment deficiencies promptly.
- Maintain clean and professional equipment appearance.
- Perform basic preventive maintenance as assigned.
- Follow all company policies, MSHA regulations, and site safety procedures.
- Conduct workplace examinations as required.
- Wear required PPE at all times.
- Participate in safety meetings, inspections, and training programs.
- Maintain situational awareness around mobile equipment and personnel.
- Immediately report unsafe conditions, incidents, and near misses.
- Operate additional equipment as qualified and assigned.
- Assist with quarry maintenance projects and operational needs.
- Support production goals while maintaining safe work practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- Ability to work safely around heavy equipment and active quarry operations.
- Strong attendance, reliability, and work ethic.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Preferred
- Previous water truck, haul truck, loader, excavator, or heavy equipment experience.
- Mining, quarry, aggregate, construction, or industrial experience.
- MSHA training and mine-site experience.
