About the role
This role is responsible for operating a water truck for dust suppression, supporting plant and quarry grounds maintenance, and safely operating haul trucks as needed to support production.
Responsibilities
- Actively promote safety awareness and continuous improvement through positive recognition
- Maintain strong communications with other plant employees and operators
- Operate water truck to control dust on haul roads, plant areas, and stockpiles
- Maintain proper road conditions by applying water evenly and adjusting for weather and traffic conditions
- Perform daily pre-operational inspections and basic maintenance (fluids, tires, lights, etc.) on assigned equipment
- Safely operate haul trucks to transport raw materials within the quarry as required
- Assist with plant groundskeeping duties including: shoveling, sweeping, and cleanup of spillage around crushers, conveyors, and work areas
- Remove debris, mud, and material buildup
- Supporting general housekeeping to maintain safe and clean work environments
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and coworkers via radio
- Identify and report equipment issues, hazards, or unsafe conditions
- Assist maintenance or plant personnel as needed during downtime
- Adhere to all MSHA regulations, company safety policies, and environmental guidelines
- Maintain accurate records of inspections and work activities as required
- Perform Labor and other duties or responsibilities as assigned
- Various work duties as needed
Requirements
- 6 months Water Truck or Truck driving experience
- Experience with water pumps (any and all) preferred
- Able to communicate orally and in writing
- The ability to stand, stoop, bend, lift, walk, climb stairs, ladders, and catwalks up to 60 feet as required
- The ability to work in varied outdoor environments (cold, hot, dry, dusty, rainy)
