Responsibilities
- Perform daily operations and upkeep of the Water Treatment Department
- Load and move Bi-Product trailers and tankers
- Handle daily point of contact for Bi-Product trailer deliveries and pick-ups
- Fill out Bi-product Bill of Lading and attach security seals as required
- Clean Water Treatment area and equipment
- Maintain and monitor Water & Waste Treatment control systems and recording devices
- Conduct preventative maintenance
- Report any mechanical or process breakages/deficiencies to the Maintenance Department for repair
- Monitor and test Water Treatment Effluent for process control
- Adjust Water Treatment Effluent Process Control to stay within discharge limits
- Operate and maintain Blood Trough
- Test and maintain Plant Water Softeners daily
- Complete and organize daily records and paperwork
- Clean and organize Water Treatment Department/work areas
- Perform snow removal as assigned
- Assist with other duties as assigned (assist department projects, assist yard, etc.)
Qualifications
- At least 1-2 years’ experience in the operations and maintenance of Water Treatment plants and associated ancillary and auxiliary equipment and distribution systems
- Must possess or obtain within 12 months of employment a Water Treatment Operator Certification
- Must be able to read, write, and comprehend the English language to communicate effectively
- Must have knowledge of maintenance/water treatment language and terminology to effectively communicate within the department and to technical persons over the phone
- Experience in driving a tractor/trailer or yard truck preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
- Ability to lift, push, or carry up to 50 lbs.
