Responsibilities
- Relieve all operators for breaks, lunches and scheduled days off.
- Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained.
- Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
- Run and maintain equipment and make appropriate adjustments as needed.
- Verify proper seal integrity, weight, and coding on bags/trays.
- Provide proper documentation of all quality checks.
- Verify that proper operational guidelines are followed both in cleaning and production.
- Set up and operate the metal detector, scale, and other necessary equipment.
- Effectively communicate relevant information to fellow employees on the shift and to on-coming employees at shift change.
- Assist with Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) development and rollout.
- Provide training to employees.
- Work closely with all supervisors to understand staffing needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in a similar role is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
- Basic understanding of safety instructions and rules.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, memos, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Reasoning ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
