Responsibilities

  • Relieve all operators for breaks, lunches and scheduled days off.
  • Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained.
  • Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Run and maintain equipment and make appropriate adjustments as needed.
  • Verify proper seal integrity, weight, and coding on bags/trays.
  • Provide proper documentation of all quality checks.
  • Verify that proper operational guidelines are followed both in cleaning and production.
  • Set up and operate the metal detector, scale, and other necessary equipment.
  • Effectively communicate relevant information to fellow employees on the shift and to on-coming employees at shift change.
  • Assist with Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) development and rollout.
  • Provide training to employees.
  • Work closely with all supervisors to understand staffing needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in a similar role is preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
  • Basic understanding of safety instructions and rules.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, memos, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Reasoning ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
