About The Role

As a Water Systems Operator, you will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the boiler makeup and cooling water systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the water system equipment including cleaning strainers/baskets, replacing and repairing leaky fittings, assisting in changing pumps, and maintaining clean Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Perform minor maintenance tasks and maintain reagent inventories; RE-Use systems, R/O and U/F, and various additional attached chemical systems.
• Coordinate and execute the off-loading procedures of all water treatment chemical deliveries.
• Monitor boiler, steam, condensate chemistry, and water treatment equipment for performance to determine when things need to be cleaned, regenerated, and/or replaced.
• Understand safety data sheets for all reagents and chemicals used in daily performance.
• Keep chemical dikes and offloading trenches empty; maintain proper system logs, and perform periodic cleaning of raw water and RO heat exchangers.
• Follow operating procedures for the system.
• Monitor demineralizers, pre-treatment, RO, condensate polishing, and circulating water systems.
• Communicate effectively with all shift personnel on system status and operation.
• Perform testing of boiler water, steam, and cooling tower chemistry.
• Complete preventive and proactive maintenance per the schedule to prevent equipment breakdowns.
• Provide water washing, outage, and shift coverage support.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure safe and efficient facility operations.

Requirements & Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years experience with high-pressure boilers and auxiliary systems.
• Previous water testing experience is a plus.
• Formal technical or utility training is preferred.
• Ability to work a rotating shift schedule.

Pay

The pay range for the primary location of this position is $34.90 - $46.49 USD per hour. The final salary offered will be determined based on factors including experience, education, geographic location, skills, competencies, travel requirements, and/or union contracts (if applicable).
