Water System Operator

About the role

Step into your new role as a Water System Operator for our Katy, TX and Sealy, TX areas. This is a flexible position offering up to 15 hours weekly.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain pumps, motors, blowers
• Complete and follow-up on work orders and process control monitoring
• Monitor and record flow meters and system run hours
• Service and maintain equipment and overall plant
• Clean sand filters and media filters
• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot electrical controls (with proper training and equipment)
• Collect samples for analysis and maintain chain of custody
• Log plant operation details, on computer and in writing; prepare reports
• Monitor treatment processes and apply standard operational adjustments based on those results

Requirements

• Good and effective communication skills
• Good analytical and organizational abilities
• Committed to following established policies and procedures
• 75% field work and 25% office time
• Valid Driver's License
• Valid Class C Water Operator License is preferred. Class D Water Operator License is acceptable if a Class C is obtainable within a year

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid Texas Water Operator License
• Experience operating and maintaining water and wastewater treatment facilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions

Pay

The anticipated salary range is $30.00 per hour to $45.00 per hour.
