Water Systems Data Analyst
Job Summary
Minneapolis Water Treatment & Distribution Services (WTDS) is a division of the City’s Public Works Department responsible for providing safe, high-quality drinking water to over 500,000 people. This position supports and enhances the utility's information management and reporting processes for water treatment control systems.
Responsibilities
- Support and train operations staff and others in the use of our existing reporting system and enhance the system through the development of reports, dashboards, and other metrics.
- Review current business practices and offer technical solutions to create efficiencies and improve workflows.
- Support a variety of other software systems such as meter reading, laboratory equipment, and control system technologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or equivalent.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience performing related duties.
Selection Process
The selection process will consist of a rating of relevant education and experience and/or an oral examination (100%).
Background Check
The City of Minneapolis may conduct a criminal background check and/or qualifications check for certain positions. Applicants may be required to sign an informed consent form allowing the City to obtain their criminal history and/or verify their qualifications.
Union Representation
This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement between the City of Minneapolis and the Minneapolis Professional Employees Association (MPEA).
Eligible List Statement
The names of applicants who meet minimum qualification and who pass the screening process shall be placed on the eligible list for employment consideration. This list will be certified to the hiring manager who may use the list to fill a vacancy of the same job title. This eligible list will expire two (2) months after it has been established.
