About the role
The City of Chicopee's Department of Public Works - Water Division is hiring a Water System Maintenance Worker.
Responsibilities
- Install and repair water mains and appurtenances.
- Install and repair water service connections.
- Operate, clean, and maintain tapping and drilling machines.
- Operate, clean, and maintain pumping equipment used in the installation and maintenance of water mains and service connections.
- Repairs trenches and excavations by patching with bituminous and concrete materials.
- Washes and cleans all motor vehicles, as directed by foreman or other supervising authority.
- Maintains material stock on utility truck as directed by the supervising authority.
- Other duties as assigned per the full job description.
Requirements
- Massachusetts Class B CDL License - Required
- Massachusetts Class A CDL License - Preferred
- Minimum (1) year of related experience and/or training or a combination of education and experience/training
- Working knowledge of water treatment and systems operations
- Working knowledge of a wide variety of hand tools, air tools and hydraulic tools
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
