Water/Sewer Engineer II

About the role

Support the planning, design, and delivery of a variety of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects throughout the Midwest. Project work includes water distribution systems, water transmission mains, sewer collection systems, municipal storm sewer systems, conveyance improvements, stormwater management initiatives, and related design documentation.

Responsibilities

• Completes assigned work within the schedule and number of hours provided.
• Prepares and modifies project reports, plans, designs, and calculations.
• Develops project quantities and assists with cost estimate development.
• Aids engineering teams with design file organization and administrative support.
• Self-sufficiently completes tasks including research, data collection, field investigations, and project design.
• Supports engineering teams with other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 2 years of relevant experience, or
• Master’s degree in Engineering with 1 year of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in applying engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and MicroStation or AutoCad or other software as required for job assignments.

Skills

• Engineering analysis, research, calculations, and design tasks.
• Design of utility infrastructure, including pipeline hydraulics, utility modeling, system improvements, and rehabilitation projects.
• Stormwater system modeling, drainage design, flood resiliency considerations, and green infrastructure evaluations.
