As a Water Sewage Operator, you’ll be at the forefront of keeping essential water systems safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible. From monitoring water quality and maintaining equipment to supporting wastewater recycling and ensuring compliance with strict safety standards, you’ll play a critical role in protecting both people and the planet. As the Water Sewage Operator, here's the work you'll do: Perform daily checks on incoming potable water, gallons, chlorine, ECT, along with wastewater treatment plantPerform Preventative Maintenance on equipment and adjusts as neededFollows water sampling plans created by AO and IDNRProcesses explosive wastewater to be recycledMaintains AO and Government equipment for cleanliness and operational requirementsFollows all AO and Government policies for safety This role is for you if you have these skills: Strong written and oral communicationHave knowledge of water/wastewater processesGood understanding of the environmental/health impacts associated with potable and wastewaterMechanical knowledge of pumping/electronics/associated equipmentAbility to lift objects greater than 50lbs And These Qualifications H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required. Minimum of two years related experience and/or training Preferred. IDNR Water/Wastewater Grade 1-2 Certifications Preferred. Must possess a valid REAL ID-compliant driver’s license, which includes the gold or black star in the upper corner, indicating it is federally compliant. A positive attitude and the ability to collaborate with team members is essential for contributing to a cohesive work environment. Successful completion of a background screening process is mandated for all candidates. Candidates may be required to satisfy additional job-related requirements, including those established and controlled by third parties, as part of the selection process. In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $32.09 - $35.65/HR. Please note that this range is not a guarantee of compensation; final offer amounts may vary based on experience and geographic location. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on the date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
