Responsibilities
This position provides substantial opportunities for collaboration with scientific disciplines as part of Stantec’s holistic Environment Services program. Duties include desktop and field studies supporting a broad spectrum of water resource engineering projects focused on assessment and design for aquatic habitat restoration:
- Dam removal
- Culvert replacement
- Bridge hydraulics and scour
- Flood risk assessment
- Coastal resilience
- Stream restoration and enhancement
- Writing and preparation of documentation and engineering design materials
- Hydrologic/hydraulic modeling
Requirements
- BS or MS degree in civil or environmental engineering discipline
- 10+ years of experience
- Professional Engineer license required, along with ability to obtain additional licenses in Massachusetts and other New England States within three months of hiring date
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Drafting skills, including experience with AutoCAD software / Civil 3D
- Good understanding of mathematics and engineering mechanics
- Ability to creatively apply technical knowledge
- Ability to perform fieldwork
- Attention to detail, positive attitude, desire to support team success
- Working knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS
- Experience with surface water hydrology and hydraulics
- Experience working and recreating in and along waterways
- Experience and interest in hydraulics and river mechanics
Pay
Pay ranges vary by location:
- Various locations in ME, VA: $81,800.00 - $118,600.00 annually
- Locations in MN, OH, VT, and various CA, ME, NY, VA areas: $90,900.00 - $131,800.00 annually
- Locations in WA, DC, and various CA, MA, VA areas: $107,300.00 - $155,500.00 annually
At Stantec, certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
