Water Rescue Trainee (On-Call)

Responsibilities

• Prepare water craft, associated rescue gear, and dive equipment for deployment on scene.
• Inspect and care for assigned personal protective equipment, team apparatus and associated equipment.
• Maintain water rescue vehicles and specialized equipment to ensure compliance with Borough, State or Federal standards.
• Aids in routine physical inventory and maintenance of borough owned water rescue equipment.
• Aids in the issue and collection of Water Rescue equipment and supplies, and prepares new inventory for issuance in compliance with borough standards.

Requirements

• Valid operator's license required by date of hire with an acceptable driving record and criminal history.
• Blood Borne Pathogens and HIPAA training are required prior to initial assignment or within 10 days of hire, whichever comes first.
• Hazardous Communication training is required at the time of initial assignment.
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check and physical.
• Completion of Incident Command System (ICS) courses, ICS 100 and IS 700 within ninety (90) days of hire and ICS 200 and IS 800 within one (1) year of hire.
