Water Group Lead, Southwest

About the role

Mott MacDonald is actively growing its water practice in North America. We are seeking a Water Group Lead to help develop work in the Southwest area, including California and Texas. The primary office will be in Los Angeles, CA, but flexibility for work across the target area is expected.

Responsibilities

• Develop a growth plan for water in the Southwest area and implement it.
• Interact with clients and regulatory agencies.
• Identify and generate project opportunities.
• Build client relationships and win work.
• Identify and attract local area engineering talent.
• Build Mott MacDonald’s brand in the target area.
• Lead and mentor technical staff.
• Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and contractors.
• Prepare written reports and planning documents.
• Participate in area trade and engineering societies and associations.

Requirements

• A BS in Civil Engineering is required.
• A Master’s Degree is desired.
• A Professional Engineer license in California is required.
• At least 20 years of experience directly related to the water sector industry, preferably in California.
• Experience in Southwest is a plus.
• Ability to assemble, evaluate, manage, and guide project teams.
• Direct experience completing projects in California.
• Proven experience developing technical work products and programs.
• Ability to help develop responses to requests for qualifications with strong technical writing skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to speak publicly.
• Experience in providing technical and project leadership to staff-level or junior engineers.

Qualifications

Pay

The expected salary range for this position is $250,000 - $300,000. Individual pay is determined based on several factors such as work location, education, experience, and unique skills.

Schedule

This position is full-time and offers a hybrid working policy.
