About the role
Mott MacDonald is seeking an experienced water/wastewater engineer to join their growing Colorado team. The ideal candidate will support project managers in executing water projects, working with multi-discipline design teams, and providing design support services during construction.
Responsibilities
- Oversee technical design deliverables for work packages for infrastructure projects in water/wastewater
- Assists the project manager in managing projects, serving as the deputy project manager and/or task/discipline lead for projects
- Prepares plans, specifications, cost estimates, and calculations for key deliverables
- Provides design support services during construction (submittal reviews, RFI’s, change orders, etc.)
- Applies intensive/diversified knowledge of engineering/scientific principals/practices in broad areas of assignment and related fields
- Collaborates with other disciplines, subconsultants, and other staff throughout the project
Requirements
- Entrepreneurial mindset is a must
- B.S. Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering required
- Professional Engineer (PE) in Colorado
- 5+ years of relevant experience in water and wastewater related projects – planning, design, execution, and cost estimation for green infrastructure, pumping, and pipeline design projects
- Excellent coordination and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with multicultural and multidisciplinary teams
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills; able to collaborate effectively with all levels of staff and clients (technical and non-technical) and nurture the development of junior staff
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Microsoft Project
- Knowledge of hydraulic and hydrologic modeling software is a plus but not needed
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or GIS
- Skilled in technical writing
