Water Department Manager (Associate Vice President/Vice President)

Responsibilities

  • Grow, mentor, and develop a team of 15 to 20 water resources and coastal engineering professionals
  • Develop and execute strategies consistent with the enterprise growth goals
  • Conduct business development activities and opportunity capture planning, proposal writing, and oversight
  • Staff project teams with the right number and type of skill sets to contribute to successful delivery
  • Develop strong client relationships
  • Manage, lead, execute, and provide technical support for resilience, water resources, and hazard mitigation projects within the municipal, regional, and federal markets
  • Serve as Contract Manager and/or Project Manager and/or Engineer of Record on complex multi-disciplinary projects
  • Become QA/QC champion for the water resources and climate resilience team
  • Collaborate proactively and productively with other groups and company offices across the Northeast and our national programs operations units

Requirements

  • BS or MS degree preferably in Civil Engineering (with an emphasis in water resources and/or environmental engineering)
  • Knowledge of USACE, FEMA, NYCDEP, NYSDEC and similar agencies standards and procedures for design
  • Professional Engineer License and ability to apply for reciprocity in various states
  • Experience writing winning proposals and leading successful client presentations for New York clients
  • Strong interpersonal and effective leadership skills
  • Experience using H&H modeling programs such as Infoworks ICM, MIKE, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM and others
  • Knowledge of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), is a plus
  • Knowledge of coastal engineering is a plus
  • Knowledge to perform QA/QC using various standards and checklists
  • A clean driving record is required

Pay

The projected range for this position is $220,000 to $270,000 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly. These ranges are for NY only.
