Water and Wastewater Engineer (Entry Level)

As a member of the Garver Water Design Center (WDC) in Greenville, SC, you will be focused on Process Mechanical Design and responsible for taking projects from conceptual planning to bid-ready documents under the direction of Senior Process Mechanical Engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design of water and wastewater treatment processes
• Support of water and wastewater process evaluation, selection, and implementation
• Pump selection and pump station design
• Chemical storage and feed system design
• Blower sizing and blower system design
• Mechanical equipment selection
• Piping and instrumentation drawing production
• Specification and contract document preparation
• Support of construction projects
• Overseeing the development of construction drawings and 3D models
• Facility and equipment layouts, design calculations, equipment vendor coordination
• Management and coordination of support discipline activities
• Coordination with regional offices and regulatory agencies
• Performing quality reviews of other teams’ designs

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, chemical, mechanical, biosystems/agricultural, or related engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program
• Registered as an Engineer Intern Training (EIT) or ability to obtain an EIT within 6 months of hire

Preferred Attributes

• Master’s degree in civil, environmental, chemical, mechanical, or biosystems/agricultural or related engineering discipline
• Similar project design experience with an engineering consulting firm
• Design experience of lift stations, booster pump stations, chemical feed, and water/wastewater treatment
• Experience working with a multi-disciplinary team comprised of civil, structural, building mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation and control disciplines
• Strong communication skills as required to collaborate on project designs with multi-discipline project teams
• Strong working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook
• Active participation in local professional organizations
