Water Aerobic Instructor

Responsibilities

• Develop member relationships
• Increase program development and member retention
• Instruct safe, effective and fun group exercise classes
• Aid in various branch activities such as special events
• Supervise and guide participants through workouts
• Ensure a safe aquatic environment
• Clean and maintain equipment after classes
• Adhere to safety guidelines and respond to emergencies
• Teach classes on time and find substitutes if necessary
• Encourage healthy lifestyles and provide individualized instruction
• Expose YMCA to non-member participants
• Participate in staff activities

Qualifications

• Current CPR for the Professional Rescuer/AED/Blood Borne Pathogens/Basic First Aid/Emergency Oxygen Administration
• Nationally recognized certification in water aerobics
• Minimum of one regular schedule water aerobics class per week
• Maintain all appropriate certifications and provide copies annually
• Excellent human relations and communication skills
• Team player willing to substitute teach

Pay

$19 - $25 per hour
