Watchlist Analyst Senior

Amentum provides warning and all-source analytical support to DIA’s Defense Combating Terrorism Office to drive DoD policy, planning, and operational decisions to counter regional and transnational terrorism threats. The role involves mission-critical counterterrorism analysis focused on operational and strategic effects against emerging terrorist threat networks globally. Responsibilities include delivering national watchlisting support to the TIDE database, providing expert assessments for the Pentagon/Joint Staff, and offering 24/7/365 support to DoD and senior policy decision makers on predictive threat assessments. Analysts also support the Congressionally-mandated Prisoner of War/Missing in Action cell with analysis, collection, and 24/7 support for global hostage threats or events against U.S. citizens.

Responsibilities

• Systematically review DoD datasets to identify and record information on known or suspected terrorists.
• Prioritize and crosscheck terrorist identities against other intelligence holdings to ensure completeness and avoid duplication.
• Compile information into nomination reports formatted as specified by the Government, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and proper classification.
• Meet the Terrorist Identity Nomination (TIN) production schedule and correct or resubmit reports as needed.
• Provide guidance to less experienced team members on Watchlisting processes.
• Demonstrate knowledge of IC organizations, CT operations, and intelligence systems related to counterterrorism.
• Attend meetings, conferences, and analytic exchanges in support of DIA’s Watchlisting mission.
• Utilize DoD datasets and intelligence reporting activities to support National Terrorist Watchlisting policies.
• Apply in-depth knowledge of terrorist organizations, including leadership, activities, and ideology.

Requirements

• Perform all-source intelligence analysis of DoD datasets to identify and nominate known or suspected terrorists into the National Terrorist Watchlisting system.
• Develop DoD recommendations for no-fly, selectee, or other national terrorist watch lists in accordance with Homeland Security Presidential Directives (HSPDs) 6 and 11.
• Produce analytic reports using DIA’s Watchlisting Data Organizer (WATCHDOG) or other internal tools.
• Prepare reports for dissemination as specified by the Government.
• Active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.
• Minimum education: High School/GED.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Preferred: 12 years of experience in the labor category, with at least a portion within the last 2 years.
• Preferred: Master’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution.
• Senior-level analysts should have 5+ years of experience reviewing analytic products for tradecraft standards and cogent arguments.
• Ability to lead, mentor, and develop contract analysts.
• Understanding of ODNI’s ICDs 203 (Analytic Standards), 206 (Sourcing Requirements), and 208 (Write for Maximum Utility).
• Experience producing formal written strategic counterterrorism assessments, graphics, and briefings in accordance with ICD 203, DIA, and ODNI standards.
• Proficiency in research databases (e.g., Global Terrorism Database) and quantifiable matrices for written and oral products.

Pay

$100,000 - $105,000 per year.
